Choosing Activity Types for Your Challenge

Find out about the different activity types available for your challenge.

The standard activity types for every challenge are Walk and Run. Our support team can assist you in enabling additional types such as Cycle, Swim, Other, etc.

These types are used when a user manually enters their activity (as shown in the screenshot below), allowing them to indicate what form of activity they were doing. The system does not account for the "effort" involved: 5 km of walking adds 5 km of distance to the challenge, just the same as 5 km of cycling.

It's important to note that our connections with syncing devices (eg. Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Health and Health Connect) will still only sync the participant's steps.

If you wish to allow other activity types, we can add a link from the challenge to our Activity Conversion Chart. The chart allows people to convert alternative exercises into an amount of steps which they could then add to the challenge.
