How do I comment on a News Post?

Your challenge organiser can choose whether or not to allow comments on each News Post. If you don't see the comment functionality on a particular News Post, you cannot comment on it.

You can leave comments and add images in response to News Posts sent out by your challenge organiser.

How to open news posts

On the challenge website, tap News Posts in the left-hand sidebar. On the app, open the sidebar and tap the News Posts icon.

You should see the list of all News Posts with the most recent one at the top of the list. Just click/tap on the News Post to read it in detail.

Adding a comment

You can add a message and an image to your comment.

On the website

To send a message, just type your message into the box below the News Post then press the Send button/icon. If you wish to add a photo, click the photo icon to attach your image. You can remove the attached photo by clicking on the red cross button.

On the app

If comments are enabled, you'll see an indicator showing the current number of comments and a View All button. Tap this to view all of the comments and add a new one. Just type your message into the box below the News Post then tap the Send button/icon. If you wish to add a photo, tap the photo icon to attach your image. You can remove the attached photo by tapping on the red cross button.

Deleting a comment

You can delete a comment that you have added at any time. Deleting a comment deletes it for everyone, not just for you. You cannot restore a comment after it has been deleted.

On the challenge website, open News Posts, find the News Post and comment which you wish to delete, then click the button with the three dots beside it. You can then select Delete. You will be asked to confirm this action and then the comment will be deleted.

On the challenge app, open the sidebar then select News Posts. Find the News Post and comment you wish to delete, then tap the button with the three dots beside it. You will be given the option to Delete Comment and then will be asked to confirm before your comment is deleted.

Reporting a comment

If you believe a comment contains inappropriate content, you can report this to your challenge organiser. Please note that reporting a comment will immediately delete the message for all participants and no-one will be able to see it in the comments section. Your challenge organiser will then be notified about this and will be given the chance to review the comment. They may choose to take further action on their side or they can restore the comment.

On the challenge website, open News Posts, find the News Post comment which you wish to report, then click the button with the three dots beside it. You can then select Report. You will be asked to confirm this action and choose a reporting reason before confirming.

On the challenge app, open the sidebar then select News Posts. Find the News Post and comment you wish to report, then tap the button with the three dots beside it. Your privacy and security

We take your privacy and data security very seriously and want to be as transparent as possible with you about how we handle your data:

  • You can delete your own comments at any time.

  • If you feel that a comment or image is inappropriate, you can report it to your challenge organiser.

  • Your challenge organiser is responsible for monitoring comments. The Big Team Challenge support team does have access to comments and may delete comments in exceptional circumstances if required.
